Coronation Street favourite Antony Cotton, who plays Sean Tully on the soap, was attacked at Aintree Racecourse on Friday.
Antony who heckled constantly through out the day, was attacted by a drunked man as he was leaving the Arena. The drunken racegoer who was very abusive took a swing at Antony.
An onlooker said: “Antony was being called names but was determined to enjoy the day. Then after he left his private box a drunken racegoer made a lunge at him. There was no homophobic element to the name-calling.”
The Corrie star was helped by police officers but has decided not to press charges.
